'Scottish' Wheellock, .54 cal $4,500
This weapon is built along lines similar to those displayed on a specimen made in Scotland. Barrel is octogon to round, with a large chiseled 'cannon-mouth' muzzle that extends beyond the end of the stock. Set trigger trips a vertical sear. |

These guns always struck us as having a somewhat clunky appearance,
but they are much more ergonomic than they appear. They fit
the shoulder well and they balance wonderfully for careful,
precise shots. It is interesting that many of the early Scottish
wheelocks we have researched were rifles.
